Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov: “Estonia’s requests to send NATO troops prove the validity of Russia’s concerns”

Estonia’s requests to deploy an additional NATO contingent on its territory, as well as Sweden’s increased military activity on the island of Gotland, are evidence that it is the West that is fomenting tension in the region, the Kremlin said.

“This is precisely the proof of the validity of our concerns. And this is the proof that we are not the cause of the escalation of tension,” explained the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

Earlier it became known that the Baltic countries insist on increasing the number of NATO troops on their territory. In particular, Estonia has already prepared everything necessary for the deployment of 5,000 NATO rapid reaction troops in the country.
