VIDEO: Maryland school officer hailed a hero after saving student from getting hit by car

The dramatic rescue occurred when Northeast Maryland (USA) Police Department officer Annette Goodyear was directing traffic in a school crosswalk, and when a student crossed, Goodyear quickly pushed her out of the way as a fast-moving car crossed the street.

The officer was hit by the car and was taken to the hospital, but fortunately was released later that day.

Meanwhile, the driver was ticketed for failing to yield at a crosswalk, driving in a negligent manner, and driving with an expired registration.

The city of North East now praises the officer for her quick action and bravery.
